AI-Compatible PCs Will Transform Workstyles: Significantly Boosting Performance, Security, and Personalization
-
Canalys recently published an article stating that the new generation of AI-compatible personal computers will change the way we work. The combination of hybrid cloud and local computing will enable people to significantly improve work efficiency and unleash their creativity. This will drive the transition to the 'AI PC' era, greatly enhancing performance, security, and personalization.
Although still in its infancy, Canalys has established a baseline definition for AI PCs. Canalys predicts that initially, AI-compatible PCs will be limited to specific business functions and professionals requiring powerful hardware to run intensive AI workloads. However, over the next five years, optimized large language models, the emergence of an AI tools market, and new operating systems with robust AI integration will accelerate the adoption of AI-compatible PCs.
As software technology catches up, the full utilization of AI-compatible PCs is expected to rise rapidly by 2025, coinciding with the release of the second generation of AI PCs and aligning with predicted market replacement cycles. The deployment of AI-compatible PCs will steadily expand to other business sectors.
Canalys forecasts that by 2027, 60% of PCs will be AI-compatible. However, the adoption of AI compatibility will not significantly expand the overall PC market size.
