Alibaba Cloud Open-Sources Tongyi Qianwen 14B-Parameter Models Qwen-14B and Qwen-14B-Chat

On September 25, Alibaba Cloud open-sourced its 14-billion-parameter models Qwen-14B and its conversational variant Qwen-14B-Chat, making them freely available for commercial use.
Reportedly, Qwen-14B has outperformed models of similar scale in multiple authoritative benchmarks, with some metrics even approaching those of Llama2-70B.
Qwen-14B is a high-performance open-source model supporting multiple languages. Compared to similar models, it utilizes more high-quality training data, with the total training tokens exceeding 3 trillion, endowing the model with enhanced reasoning, cognition, planning, and memory capabilities.
Qwen-14B-Chat is a conversational model fine-tuned through SFT (Supervised Fine-Tuning) based on the foundation model. Leveraging the powerful performance of the base model, Qwen-14B-Chat significantly improves the accuracy of generated content, better aligns with human preferences, and notably expands creativity and richness in content generation.
Currently, users can directly download the models from the ModelScope community or access and invoke Qwen-14B and Qwen-14B-Chat through Alibaba Cloud's Lingji Platform.
