One year after the release of the image generation tool Stable Diffusion, Romania-based startup DreamGF launched its service, helping clients find AI-generated dream girlfriends.

Users can customize their virtual girlfriends, chat with them, and request photos. The company claims to have 500,000 registered users with 10,000 paying subscribers, generating approximately $120,000 in monthly revenue. DreamGF reports thousands of daily sign-ups and has already achieved profitability.

DreamGF allows users to customize virtual girlfriends by selecting different outfits and "roles," which include various stereotypes like "nurse" and "dominatrix," raising concerns about reinforcing the objectification of women. The CEO argues this helps users channel unhealthy desires toward AI rather than real people.

Subscription prices range from €10 to €97 per month, with higher tiers offering more benefits: premium customers receive more nude photos from their "girlfriends" and can have multiple AI companions. The company is currently developing an AI boyfriend product for both male and female customers.

DreamGF currently processes payments through third-party platforms but aims to establish its own payment system. The company faces ethical concerns in the AI companion industry, with observers worrying about increased objectification of women and questioning the sector's future development.
