AI Large Models: A Key Driver for Enterprise Intelligent Transformation
-
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is driving the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing. From intelligent management within enterprises to product design and development, quality control and inspection, supply chain management, and safety production, AI is playing a significant role. In the era of large models, how can AI further assist industrial enterprises in their digital and intelligent transformation?
"With the continuous increase in the parameter scale of large models, 'intelligence' is increasingly emerging. Intelligence is the inevitable path for enterprise competition, even for survival," said Zhang Fa'en, Chief Technology Officer of Qingdao AInnovation Technology Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as AInnovation), at the launch event of the "AInnoGC" industrial large model on September 1. "Currently, large models have important application scenarios on the consumer side and strong demand on the enterprise side, making them a key driver for the intelligent transformation of industrial enterprises."
According to the recent report "AI Large Models in Industrial Applications Outlook, 2023" released by International Data Corporation (IDC), the application of large models in the industrial sector is mainly divided into two directions: enhancing the generalization ability of scenario models to improve applicability, or leveraging natural language dialogue and content generation capabilities to change application interaction methods, such as generating documents and reports. In the industrial field, large models have already formed application scenarios in production, R&D design, and operational management.
The "Industrial Digitalization/Intelligence 2030 White Paper," released in May this year, states that industrial digitization has become an inevitable choice for the industrial sector. The path to enterprise digitization (including intelligence) has no end and will always be in progress. A representative from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology pointed out that digitization is comprehensively reshaping the industrial production function, driving the emergence of new production factors, manufacturing systems, R&D paradigms, and organizational forms. It is the most significant technological variable reshaping the industrial system, industrialization process, and global industrial landscape. This transformation process will not only create new tracks but also change every segment of the manufacturing industry and every link in the industrial chain and value chain.
As one of the earliest domestic industrial large model manufacturers focused on the manufacturing sector, Zhang Fa'en introduced that AInnovation's industrial large model has over 15 billion parameters and features industry-specific, lightweight, and multimodal capabilities. "We will continue to invest in R&D in the field of industrial large models, further integrating them with existing AI solutions to promote the implementation of large models. This will enable traditional manufacturing enterprises to benefit from the technological dividends and growth cycles driven by large models, facilitating the comprehensive and deep integration of AI with manufacturing," Zhang Fa'en stated.
