Early yesterday morning, Baidu and Baichuan Intelligence successively announced the public opening of their AI large models, Wenxin Yiyan and Baichuan Large Model, marking the first batch of large language models in China to be approved for public service.
At midnight yesterday, Wenxin Yiyan announced its comprehensive opening to the public, allowing users to download the 'Wenxin Yiyan' App from app stores or visit its official website for experience. It is reported that Baidu will also release a batch of newly reconstructed AI-native applications, enabling users to fully experience the four core capabilities of generative AI: understanding, generation, logic, and memory.
Similarly, early yesterday morning, Baichuan Intelligence announced that its large model had passed the filing under the 'Interim Measures for the Management of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services.' Founded on April 10 this year by former Sogou CEO Wang Xiaochuan, Baichuan Intelligence's core team comprises top AI talents from renowned tech companies such as Sogou, Baidu, Huawei, Microsoft, ByteDance, and Tencent. Within just four months of its establishment, Baichuan Intelligence has released three general-purpose large language models, including Baichuan-7B, China's first open-source, commercially free 7-billion-parameter large language model, and Baichuan-53B, a 53-billion-parameter large language model.
In addition to Baidu and Baichuan Intelligence, large models from companies and institutions such as ByteDance, SenseTime, Zidong Taichu, and ZhiPu HuaZhang have also been included in the first batch of filings approved under the 'Interim Measures for the Management of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services,' allowing them to officially launch and provide services to the public.
