Baidu Applies Large Language Models to Search, Chart Creation, and Other Fields

On August 16, the WAVE SUMMIT 2023 Deep Learning Developers Conference, hosted by the National Engineering Research Center for Deep Learning Technology and Applications, was held in Beijing.
Baidu's Chief Technology Officer Wang Haifeng stated at the conference that large language models possess the core foundational capabilities of artificial intelligence, bringing the dawn of artificial general intelligence.
Baidu's PaddlePaddle developer community now boasts 8 million developers and 800,000 models. With the support of PaddlePaddle and the ERNIE large model, the community has jointly established the Galaxy Community, embarking on the journey toward artificial general intelligence.
Wang Haifeng elaborated on the capabilities of large language models, including comprehension, generation, logic, and memory, as well as their applications in problem-solving, creative writing, programming, and more. Leveraging the technical advantages and innovations of ERNIE, large language models continue to enhance their foundational and general capabilities, optimizing retrieval augmentation, knowledge enhancement, and logical reasoning while improving the efficiency of training and inference.
Baidu has already applied large language models to fields such as search, document browsing, chart creation, and creative Q&A, and plans to collaborate with developers to build a plugin ecosystem and share the fruits of technological innovation.
