Goldman Sachs stated in a report released on Wednesday that AI investment in the U.S. is expected to reach $100 billion by 2025, with global AI investment potentially hitting $200 billion, a surge that could significantly benefit the broader economy.

The report noted: 'Generative AI holds immense economic potential. Within a decade of widespread adoption, it could increase global labor productivity by more than 1 percentage point annually.'

Goldman Sachs economists attributed this surge in AI investment to the substantial economic promise of generative AI, a branch of artificial intelligence focused on creating new content based on large language models, with ChatGPT being one example.

The report emphasized: 'To achieve large-scale transformation, businesses will need to make substantial upfront investments in physical, digital, and human capital to acquire and implement new technologies and restructure business processes.'
