Tech giant Meta is developing a massive-scale artificial intelligence system aimed at revitalizing its video recommendation engine to enhance user experience.

Tom Ellison, head of Facebook, revealed that this giant AI recommendation model is a key component of Meta's technology roadmap through 2026. The model will not only support short-form video services like TikTok's Reels, but also adapt to traditional long-form video content, providing users with more accurate recommendations. To achieve this goal, Meta has invested heavily in the field of AI chips, such as purchasing Nvidia's H100 chips, and configuring data centers accordingly to meet the operational demands of these high-performance chips.

Ellison further pointed out that the first phase of Meta's technology roadmap mainly focuses on migrating existing recommendation systems from traditional general-purpose computing chips to GPU-accelerated architectures. This transformation will significantly enhance the overall performance and personalized experience of the company's products, providing users with smoother and more customized services. It is worth mentioning that Meta's family of apps, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp, has integrated over 20 new generative AI features, covering multiple core application scenarios from search and advertising to business messaging. The introduction of these features will undoubtedly provide users with a richer and more intelligent interactive experience.

Overall, Meta is advancing its video recommendation engine by developing massive AI models, delivering more intelligent and personalized services to users. This move not only highlights Meta's ambitions in the field of artificial intelligence but also injects new vitality into the development of the entire industry.
