China's First Text-to-Video AI Animated Series Premieres on CCTV-1
-
Starting February 26th at 18:40 daily, China Central Television's comprehensive channel (CCTV-1) will air the country's first text-to-video AI animated series, Ode to Millennium Poetry. This production by CCTV employs cutting-edge AI technology to transform classical Chinese poetry such as Joyful Rain on a Spring Night and Ode to the Goose into visually stunning animations imbued with distinctive Chinese aesthetic characteristics.
Behind Ode to Millennium Poetry lies the robust support of the 'CCTV Ting Media Large Model.' This integrated model combines functionalities including news assistance, digital humans, text-to-video generation, animation production, and scene rendering. It incorporates multimodal AI products such as the 'Scholar·Puyu' large language model and the 'Scholar·DreamBuilder' text-to-video model. During the training of 'Scholar·DreamBuilder,' research teams and program directors infused vast amounts of culturally accurate data rooted in Chinese traditions, enabling the generation of historically grounded characters and scenes. The artistic style blends elements of Chinese ink wash painting and meticulous brushwork.
The Ode to Millennium Poetry series comprises 26 episodes, each approximately 7 minutes long. Notably, the animation's art design, motion effects, and final production are all AI-assisted—a landmark achievement in China's animation industry. Through this innovative approach, audiences can not only enjoy breathtaking visuals but also experience the profound emotions of home, country, and human connection embedded in classical Chinese poetry.
