On February 21st, it was reported that Google has been actively exploring the integration of AI technology into its various products and services. Recently, there are signs that Google is testing a new feature called 'App Highlights' in the Play Store. This feature utilizes AI technology to provide users with intelligent summaries of key app characteristics, helping them quickly understand app details.

It is reported that this feature is currently being tested with a limited number of users. Only selected users can see the 'App Highlights' feature below the install button on the app details page. The feature uses AI algorithms to automatically extract the core functionalities and selling points of the app, summarizing them in concise and easy-to-understand language to help users quickly grasp the main features of the app.

Notably, earlier this year, Google tested a similar AI feature in the Play Store—an AI-based FAQ section. However, IT Home noted that this section was located at the bottom of the details page and provided relatively lengthy descriptions.

The testing of the 'App Highlights' feature indicates that Google is committed to using AI technology to help users more easily and efficiently obtain essential information before downloading apps. It remains unclear whether Google will officially roll out this feature, along with the previously tested FAQ feature, to all users. We will have to wait and see.
