According to AP, renowned American entrepreneur Elon Musk visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum in Poland on the 22nd. Musk had previously faced criticism over alleged anti-Semitic remarks.

The report stated that this "private visit" by Musk was apparently in response to calls from some Jewish religious leaders for him to witness this most symbolic site of the Holocaust firsthand.

As previously reported by Time magazine, on November 19 last year, Musk denied allegations of anti-Semitism in a social media post. On platform X, Musk wrote, "Over the past week, hundreds of fake media stories have claimed I'm anti-Semitic. Nothing could be further from the truth. I wish only the best for humanity and a prosperous and exciting future for all." Additionally, on November 27 last year, Musk visited Israel and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Located in southern Poland, Auschwitz was established by Nazi Germany in 1940 and was the largest concentration camp operated by Nazi Germany in Poland during World War II. It imprisoned people from many countries, including Poland, with Jews constituting the majority. Records show that Nazi Germany killed at least 1.1 million people at Auschwitz. On January 27, 1945, the Soviet Red Army liberated Auschwitz. On July 2, 1947, the Polish Parliament passed legislation to establish the Auschwitz site as a memorial to the victims. On November 1, 2005, the United Nations General Assembly designated January 27 as "International Holocaust Remembrance Day."
