Scan QR Code to Generate Pre-Consultation Medical Records: AI Doctor Assistant Improves Medical Efficiency
-
On January 12, it was reported that Zhejiang University School of Medicine Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (hereinafter referred to as Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital) recently introduced an AI doctor assistant during the trial operation of its Grand Canal branch. Patients can scan the QR code on the display boards in the hospital to access the WeChat mini-program "Smart Outpatient Service at SRRSH," follow the on-screen instructions to input their medical conditions, and generate pre-consultation medical records. This allows doctors to review the patient's medical history in advance.
The mini-program is an AI doctor assistant based on a large language model. Ding Yong, director of the outpatient department at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, told reporters that the AI doctor assistant can simulate the diagnostic thinking of clinicians to ask and guide patients through multiple rounds of voice-based Q&A sessions. It quickly collects medical information such as the patient's chief complaints, accompanying symptoms, treatment history, and family history, generating a comprehensive pre-consultation medical record.
Reporters learned that the meticulousness of the AI doctor assistant is supported by six key technologies: advanced computational capabilities of the large model foundation, continuous optimization of the medical large language model, intelligent recognition and conversion by the medical speech engine, active elimination of irrelevant interference factors, AIGC-formatted medical record text generation, and intelligent imaging and picture recognition algorithms. Effective communication between doctors and patients is crucial during the diagnosis and treatment process. Ineffective communication and information asymmetry not only waste time and reduce doctors' efficiency but also easily lead to patient dissatisfaction. Mr. Lü, a patient who came for consultation, said, 'This time, I uploaded all my previous medical records through the AI doctor assistant, which saved a lot of diagnosis time.'
It is reported that during the trial operation of the Zhejiang University Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital Grand Canal Branch, the application scope of the AI doctor assistant will be further expanded to provide more experience in exploring AI's empowerment in the medical field.
