Apple's Official Website Launches Rare Price Cuts, Criticized for Lack of Sincerity: Still Much More Expensive Than Market Prices
-
On January 15th, Apple's China website announced a New Year promotion preview, set to officially begin on January 18th.
This is a rare discount event on Apple's official website, with the last one occurring around New Year's Day last year, making it essentially a once-a-year opportunity.
It's worth noting that despite the rarity of the promotion, it has been criticized by netizens for lacking sincerity, mainly due to the small discount range and the limited-time offer on a first-come, first-served basis.
Specifically, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, or iPhone 13 can save up to 500 yuan, with a total of 30,000 units available.
iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad (10th generation), or iPad mini can save up to 400 yuan, with a total of 5,200 units available.
13-inch or 15-inch MacBook Air (M2 chip models), 13-inch MacBook Air (M1 chip models) can save up to 800 yuan, with a total of 750 units available. Taking the iPhone 15 series as an example, the maximum discount across the entire lineup is 500 yuan. While this does represent a discount from the new product perspective, it is still significantly higher compared to market prices.
According to the current Pinduoduo '100 Billion Subsidies' promotion, the iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB is available for just 8,298 yuan.
In contrast, even with the highest discount of 500 yuan on Apple's official website, the final price is still 9,499 yuan, which is over 1,000 yuan more expensive than third-party prices.
Additionally, even on JD.com's official self-operated store, which typically has higher prices, the same configuration costs only 9,399 yuan, and customers can add an official fast charger for just 9 yuan.
At present, the only advantage of Apple's official website promotion is the 24-month interest-free installment plan.
