Giant Network and Alibaba Cloud Announce Comprehensive 'Gaming + AI' Partnership

On July 14, Giant Network and Alibaba Cloud announced a comprehensive 'Gaming + AI' collaboration, officially signing a memorandum of cooperation in Shanghai.
At the 2023 'Digital River' Digital Economy Industry Innovation Conference held on the same day, the two parties signed the 'Memorandum of Comprehensive Cooperation on Gaming + AI between Giant Network and Alibaba Cloud.' Attendees at the signing ceremony included Cai Yinghua, Chief Commercial Officer of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence; Han Fei, Vice President of Alibaba Cloud China; Liu Wei, CEO of Giant Network; and Meng Wei, CFO and Board Secretary of Giant Network.
According to the memorandum, Alibaba Cloud and Giant Network will jointly build a 'Gaming + AI' intelligent computing platform. Leveraging Giant Network's game development platform, Alibaba Cloud's Tongyi Qianwen large model, and AIGC product capabilities, the two parties will collaborate comprehensively to create benchmark projects for AI applications in the gaming industry.
Alibaba Cloud's DAMO Academy will also provide in-depth technical support for the collaboration. ModelScope, an AI model open-source community maintained by DAMO Academy, will explore scenarios for AI + creative tools and gaming + AI gameplay based on Giant Network's business needs, continuously iterating and upgrading model capabilities to enhance product performance.
AI technology is set to bring disruptive changes to the gaming industry, and Giant Network places great emphasis on its 'Gaming + AI' strategy. Shi Yuzhu, Chairman of Giant Network, stated earlier this year that the integration of gaming and AI represents the future trend and direction of the industry, with its essence lying in game design, significantly enhancing gameplay. Currently, AIGC tools have been applied to all game development projects at Giant Network.
Building on Giant Network's strategic focus on 'Gaming + AI' and Alibaba Cloud's technical advantages in large models, the two parties will collaborate to create benchmark projects for 'Gaming + AI.' Additionally, they have established a comprehensive partnership. In the future, Giant Network and Alibaba Cloud will collaborate across various fields, including cloud gaming, cloud computing, network and security, AR/VR, and game globalization.
