On December 31, The Information cited two informed sources stating that due to the robust growth of ChatGPT, OpenAI's recent annualized revenue has surpassed $1.6 billion (approximately RMB 11.376 billion), up from the $1.3 billion (approximately RMB 9.243 billion) projected in mid-October. This represents a 20% growth in just two months.

Since launching the paid version of ChatGPT in February this year, OpenAI has achieved significant revenue growth, primarily driven by subscriptions to its conversational chatbot. The latest data indicates that OpenAI generates at least $130 million in monthly revenue.

Looking further back, OpenAI's total revenue for last year was $28 million (approximately RMB 199 million). If this year's revenue reaches $1.6 billion, it would mark a year-over-year growth of over 5,714.29%, equivalent to a 57-fold increase.

Notably, Bloomberg recently reported that OpenAI is in early discussions for a new round of funding, with a valuation expected to "reach or exceed" $100 billion (approximately RMB 7.11 trillion).

Market research firm CB Insights' data indicates that if this funding round proceeds as planned, this AI "darling" will become the second most valuable startup in the United States, surpassed only by Musk's SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corp.).
