OpenAI is the creator of ChatGPT and is considered one of the most interesting companies in the world. According to informed sources, the company is in preliminary talks to raise a new round of financing with a valuation of at least $100 billion.
If the financing proceeds as expected, OpenAI will become the second most valuable startup in the United States, second only to Elon Musk's Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX).
According to Bloomberg's latest report, OpenAI will complete a secondary bidding early next year, enabling employees to sell shares at an $86 billion valuation. Thrive Capital is leading this initiative, with internal sources indicating strong investor demand that exceeds the available shares for sale.
It is reported that the company's CEO, Sam Altman, has been seeking funding for OpenAI's Tigris chip project. The project aims to develop semiconductor chips that can compete with Nvidia, which currently dominates the AI chip industry.
OpenAI's development has garnered significant attention, with its ChatGPT achieving major breakthroughs in the field of artificial intelligence. This new round of funding is anticipated to further drive OpenAI's growth and assist in realizing its objectives in the AI chip domain.
