In recent years, large model technology has rapidly developed in the field of artificial intelligence, leading to a significant increase in demand for key AI positions. According to the latest 2023 AI Talent Insights report released by Maimai Gaopin, the job supply-demand ratio in the AI industry dropped from 0.63 in the same period last year to 0.39 between January and August 2023, meaning there are only 2 candidates available for every 5 job openings.

In terms of salaries, the report indicates that the average monthly salary for new AI positions increased from ¥43,817 in 2022 to ¥46,518 between January and August 2023, a rise of 6.16%. Notably, the AI entrepreneurship wave driven by large models has led to a continuous increase in salaries for generative AI (AIGC) positions. The average monthly salary rose from ¥47,015 in January to ¥59,638 in August, a significant increase of 26.85%.

Although the rapid development of large model technology has caused some confusion and concern among job seekers—with worries that this new technology might be just a passing trend—industry experts emphasize that large models have become a crucial part of AI and will continue to lead future technological advancements. Therefore, this presents an excellent opportunity for those looking to enter the field of large models.

Given the strong market demand for large model technology, attracting and nurturing talent with relevant skills has become a key challenge for tech companies. Some enterprises have already begun addressing this by enhancing internal training and R&D capabilities to cultivate more professionals skilled in large model technology.
