In response to a video showing 'Xiaomi smart lock automatically opening,' Xiaomi stated that they have conducted on-site product inspections and were unable to replicate the situation shown in the video.

On the afternoon of the 18th, Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd. posted on Weibo via the account 'Xiaomi Company Spokesperson,' stating that they had noticed netizens' concerns regarding the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock Youth Edition.

Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd. clarified that the product featured in the video uses a semi-automatic lock mechanism paired with a direct-insertion Grade C lock cylinder, which does not support automatic retraction of the bolt. Its physical structure ensures that the door cannot open automatically when properly locked, and the product does not support remote unlocking via the internet. The theoretical possibility of 'accidental automatic opening' only exists if the door is improperly closed, such as due to excessive installation tolerances or other factors leading to an 'ajar' state.

Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd. further stated that their after-sales engineers had conducted on-site inspections of the product and were unable to reproduce the scenario shown in the video. After communication, they had resolved the user's concerns.

Additionally, Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd. will invite third-party testing agencies to evaluate the product to ensure public awareness of its safety features.
