Real Estate Brokerage Redfin Launches AI Tool to Allow Homebuyers to Virtually Redesign Rooms
-
Real estate brokerage Redfin has recently introduced a new tool called Redfin Redesign, which leverages artificial intelligence to enable homebuyers to virtually redesign rooms in their potential homes. The tool aims to address the challenges homebuyers face in visualizing the future appearance of a property.
Ariel Dos Santos, Senior Vice President at Redfin, stated: "Homebuyers often want to know what a house will look like after some changes, not just as it is now. Sellers want their listings to appeal to the broadest range of homebuyers, without being limited by design preferences."
Redfin Redesign is powered by Roomvo technology. Homebuyers simply need to click on listing photos and select different floor types, paint colors, and countertop materials as desired, then compare the before-and-after effects. Currently, this tool is only available on Redfin listings and Bright MLS, covering approximately 75,000 listings. However, Redfin has indicated plans to expand the number of available listings through partnerships with other brokerages and MLSs.
Bright MLS Chief Marketing Officer Amit Kulkarni stated: "Helping brokers deliver innovative experiences is fundamental to Bright as an organization. We are thrilled to be the first MLS to partner with Redfin in launching this tool, which helps people reimagine how a home looks from their desktop or mobile device."
While nothing can replace seeing a home in person, listing technology continues to advance, and people appreciate and expect more. Redfin has offered 3D tours for the past decade, while Zillow continues to invest in multimedia technology, viewing it as a "critical" component of home sales.
