36Kr has learned that Haina AI recently completed a Series A funding round worth tens of millions of yuan, exclusively invested by Lenovo Capital. The funds will be used for talent recruitment, AI model development, and marketing system expansion.

As previously reported by 36Kr, Haina AI is an AI product specializing in the talent recruitment vertical under Beijing Qunxing Shanyao Technology Co., Ltd. It was first launched in 2019, focusing on AI interview services to help companies complete the recruitment process using AI technology.

Founder and CEO Liang Gongjun told 36Kr that after completing the previous funding round in December last year, the AI 2.0 wave sparked by ChatGPT quickly educated the market. Companies across various industries have generally recognized the importance of AI, allowing Haina AI to expand its business rapidly without spending much effort convincing customers.

In fact, the high efficiency of AI interviews naturally aligns with the large-scale recruitment needs of labor-intensive enterprises. As a result, many blue-collar job positions have already begun using AI interviews for screening. Additionally, campus recruitment is another major scenario for AI interviews, as many companies need to interview large numbers of students in a short time, and AI interviews help reduce costs and improve efficiency for recruiters.

Traditional manual interview models have several pain points. First, recruitment relies almost entirely on internal human resources, making the hiring process time-consuming and inefficient. Second, HR departments across different branches of a company lack unified evaluation criteria for talent, leading to subjective assessments of candidates and inconsistent quality in hires across regions.

Hina AI's AI interviewer (digital human) can automatically interview candidates 24/7, replacing HR in introductions and questioning. Candidates only need to record short video responses on their smartphones, making the interview process time-efficient. After the interview, the AI automatically scores candidates, allowing companies to view all candidates' results in the backend. Additionally, the AI interview system supports simultaneous interviews for hundreds of thousands of candidates, significantly shortening the recruitment cycle.

    Hina AI Product Interface

There are numerous service providers offering AI-powered interview capabilities in the market. Compared to similar products, Liang Gongjun believes Hina AI's core advantage lies in its more accurate talent assessment model. He shared a set of data with 36Kr. During a client's product acceptance test, when comparing Hina AI's scoring of hundreds of candidates with the evaluations from the company's internal HR experts, the accuracy reached 97.76%. Specifically, the accuracy for the excellent group (scoring above 70) and the poor group (scoring below 30) reached 100%.

The high accuracy is primarily attributed to the underlying AI technology and vast amounts of high-quality industry data. Hina AI utilizes AI technologies such as image recognition/video analysis, speech recognition analysis, and NLP semantic understanding to structurally break down talent into 7 competency dimension groups, over 200细分维度, and conducts AI-based quantitative assessments for each dimension. In February of this year, leveraging open-source large models, Hina AI trained an industry-specific large model suitable for interview scenarios using its database of over 100 million labeled data points related to interviews and recruitment expert knowledge.

Secondly, Hina AI has spent five years developing a complete Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for position modeling. Through preliminary work such as business interviews and position梳理 with client companies, Hina AI helps customize a series of position-specific talent models covering various competency dimensions including appearance, physical fitness, psychological状态, communication skills, general素质, and professional能力. Different positions have different talent models. During interviews, the AI screens candidates based on these models and generates an interview evaluation report afterward. For qualified corporate clients, Hina AI also tracks the performance and productivity data of hired candidates within the company, feeding this information back into the talent models to further refine the assessment system. The more sample data accumulated, the higher the accuracy of the AI models.

In terms of market competition, Liang Gongjun stated that Hina AI's competitive edge lies in having 'the most top-tier benchmark clients and the largest volume of interviews.' To date, it has conducted over 7 million interviews for dozens of industry-leading groups such as SF Express, Walmart, Geely, ZTE, and Wanda.

Starting from the first quarter of this year, Hina AI has signed contracts with leading ATS/HR system service providers like Moka, Dayi, and Tupu to further expand its market. In addition to large enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses across various industries are also Hina AI's targets.

In Liang Gongjun's vision, Hina AI's job talent models can not only establish talent standards for industries but also promote the development of vocational training, such as skill training and certification exams. He hopes that Hina AI will eventually create 1,000 job talent AI models, building an integrated platform for precise talent training and employment.

Founder Liang Gongjun was formerly a Microsoft technology consultant and founded XianGuo.com (funded by KPCB, once China's largest personalized information platform). Since 2015, he has invested in dozens of enterprise service and AI startups, including Huoyan Cloud and Dayu. Hina AI was co-founded in early 2019 by Liang Gongjun, Dr. Zeng Nanshan (Microsoft Vice President of Azure AI Research), and Steve Jiang (former Global Partner at Korn Ferry), along with other AI and HR experts.

    Investors say:

He Zhiqiang, Senior Vice President of Lenovo Group and President of Lenovo Capital: First of all, congratulations to Hina AI on completing a new round of financing. The development of AI large models and their application in vertical industries demonstrate the immense potential and value of AI. By combining technology with market needs, Hina AI has once again expanded the application scenarios of AI large models. With deep insights into the talent recruitment industry, Hina AI has developed recruitment solutions that leverage big data and AI large models to create more precise evaluation models. This helps enterprises reduce costs, improve efficiency, and achieve optimal job-candidate matching. We look forward to witnessing Hina AI's efficient empowerment of the human resources industry, assisting countless talents and enterprises in achieving better job-candidate matches and enhancing organizational efficiency.

Song Chunyu, Vice President of Lenovo Group and Partner at Lenovo Capital: As an AI technology service company, Hina AI focuses on empowering the human resources industry with AI technology. The team has developed the forward-looking industry large model Hina AI 2.0, which serves as a super intelligent assistant to accurately match talents with job positions. Keeping pace with the AI 2.0 era, Hina AI utilizes over 100 million high-quality labeled interview data points and expert industry knowledge to provide "super video resumes" for global top-tier enterprises, deepening the HR recruitment experience. Lenovo Capital will fully leverage its CVC2.0 advantages to support Hina AI in enhancing product and service quality, further expanding its competitive edge, and providing reliable AI interview services to more clients, jointly creating the future of AI 2.0.
