On November 14, Alibaba's Intelligent Information Business Group unveiled its fully self-developed, trillion-parameter Quark large model, which will be applied to general search, healthcare, education, workplace scenarios, and more. The Quark App will undergo comprehensive upgrades leveraging this self-developed large model, accelerating its evolution into an AI assistant for young people's work, study, and daily life.
Commitment to Self-Developed Large Models
The Quark large model is a self-developed multimodal model based on the Transformer architecture. It undergoes daily training and fine-tuning with billions of text and image data points, featuring low cost, high responsiveness, and strong comprehensive capabilities. Additionally, the Quark large model will spawn vertical models in areas like general knowledge, healthcare, and education, providing professional services such as AIGC and intelligent retrieval.
In terms of performance, leveraging its technical advantages in semantic understanding, logical reasoning, and content generation, the Quark large model has achieved excellent results in the latest evaluation of the CMMLU authoritative benchmark.
At the same time, the Quark large model possesses outstanding capabilities in identifying, responding to, and guiding users regarding harmful or false information. In terms of knowledge capabilities, the Quark large model features extensive knowledge coverage, contextual understanding, creative expression, information gathering and integration, and multilingual support. It also has the ability to enhance domain-specific knowledge and retrieval, further improving its cross-domain and time-sensitive knowledge and language understanding. "The AI era has arrived, and the tipping point for new experiences powered by large models is just around the corner," said Wu Jia, President of Alibaba's Intelligent Information Business Group. He noted that AIGC technology based on large models will bring transformative changes to search products, accelerating the transition to next-generation search. Quark will undergo a comprehensive upgrade leveraging its self-developed large model, and the new version will be unveiled soon.
