On November 9th, at the Samsung AI Forum 2023, Samsung officially announced its self-developed generative AI model, Gauss (高斯).

It is reported that the name of Samsung's AI model is inspired by the German mathematician Gauss, a legendary figure who established the theory of normal distribution, which also underpins the development of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Samsung's generative AI model, Gauss, is divided into three components, including the Gauss Language Model, Gauss Code Model, and Gauss Image Model.

The language model and image model correspond to the generation of text and images, respectively, such as drafting copy, summarizing documents, translating content, as well as generating creative images and altering image styles.

Meanwhile, the Gauss Code Model assists developers in writing code more quickly and intelligently.

Samsung also announced that Galaxy AI will be integrated into the new Galaxy flagship smartphones, specifically the upcoming Galaxy S24 series. Additionally, this feature will not be limited to international versions; the domestic version of the Galaxy S24 series will also support it.
