OpenAI Announces 100 Million Weekly Users for ChatGPT
-
In the early hours of November 7, U.S.-based artificial intelligence company OpenAI announced at its developer conference that 100 million people use its AI model ChatGPT every week. Since March this year, OpenAI has released the ChatGPT and Whisper models via API, attracting over 2 million developers, including more than 92% of Fortune 500 companies.
In addition to sharing these statistics, OpenAI also detailed a series of new features, including a platform for building customized versions of ChatGPT to assist users with specific tasks. They also unveiled a new model called GPT-4 Turbo, which incorporates knowledge of world events up to April 2023 and can process prompts equivalent to over 300 pages of text.
At the same time, OpenAI announced a nearly threefold reduction in API pricing, lowering the cost from $20 to $10 per 1,000 inputs. This move means users can now access OpenAI's AI services more affordably.
According to OpenAI, the price reduction aims to make its AI services accessible to more users. By offering more economical options, OpenAI hopes to enable broader adoption of ChatGPT and Whisper models across various fields.
OpenAI's goal is to build artificial intelligence systems that can provide widely useful and safe tools for users. They hope that through continuous research, development, and improvement, artificial intelligence can play a greater role in various fields and bring more convenience and value to users.
