Survey Reveals Advertising Industry Most Frequently Uses ChatGPT at Work in the UK
-
According to the latest survey, searches for artificial intelligence have surged by 1700% since ChatGPT's launch in November last year. This chatbot has attracted over 100 million users worldwide, especially sparking extensive discussions about its use in the workplace.
To gain a deeper understanding of ChatGPT's adoption in UK businesses, Indusface surveyed 2,000 UK workers across various roles and industries to explore how ChatGPT is being utilized in professional settings.
The results show that the advertising industry is the sector that most frequently uses ChatGPT at work, with nearly a quarter of respondents (39%) employing the chatbot in their jobs. The legal industry ranks second, with 38% of respondents indicating they use ChatGPT at work. Writing reports is the most common reason for using ChatGPT in the workplace, cited by over a quarter of respondents (27%).
However, surprisingly, more than half (55%) of UK workers stated they distrust businesses that use ChatGPT or similar AI tools. This may be linked to concerns about data security and privacy.
Additionally, the survey revealed the primary ways UK businesses use ChatGPT at work, including writing reports (27%), translation (25%), and research (17%). These results demonstrate ChatGPT's broad applicability in handling document and language-related tasks.
While ChatGPT is becoming increasingly prevalent in the workplace, survey results indicate that many enterprises remain skeptical about collaborating with businesses that utilize ChatGPT or similar artificial intelligence technologies. This phenomenon reflects the need for more time and effort to build trust regarding the maturity of AI technology and data security issues.
