    Samsung AI Chip

According to Jiwei Network, Samsung held its Tech Day event in Silicon Valley on October 5, officially unveiling the Exynos 2400 mobile SoC chip, which will be featured in the Galaxy S24 series smartphones in 2024. Additionally, Samsung has recently secured a series of collaborations in AI chips, offering cutting-edge 4nm process foundry services for fabless IC design companies.

Samsung Electronics President Park Yong-in stated that generative AI has become the biggest trend this year, requiring the most powerful foundational technologies to process data and enable usable AI. Samsung is proactively paving the way for a new era of generative AI.

Although TSMC currently dominates global AI chip manufacturing, Samsung Foundry has recently secured orders from AI chip startups in South Korea, Canada, and the U.S.

Rebellions, a South Korean fabless company specializing in AI chips, announced on October 5 that it will collaborate with Samsung to develop a new AI chip called Rebel by the end of this year. The partnership aims to seize opportunities in the rapidly growing AI market. The jointly developed chip will utilize a 4nm process and incorporate the most advanced HBM3E high-bandwidth memory chips.

On October 2, Canadian company Tenstorrent announced that its next-generation AI chip will be manufactured by Samsung's U.S. foundry. The company's founder, Jim Keller, a veteran in the chip industry with experience at AMD and Apple, said, "Samsung Foundry is committed to advancing semiconductor technology, which aligns perfectly with our vision for RISC-V and AI development."

In August 2023, U.S.-based AI solutions company Groq, founded by former Google engineers, also chose Samsung as its foundry partner for AI accelerator chips. The company's CEO stated that the collaboration with Samsung allows them to leverage the most advanced semiconductor technology and continue making breakthroughs.
