Competing with ChatGPT! Amazon Plans to Launch AI Chatbot: Could Go Live as Early as January Next Year
-
Amazon is developing an AI-powered chatbot and plans to integrate it into the search bar on its website to enhance the shopping experience for customers on its e-commerce platform. The launch could happen as early as January next year.
It is reported that the internal codename for this project is "Project Nile." It will add an AI layer to Amazon's existing search bar, enabling instant product comparisons, allowing users to ask more specific questions, and providing more accurate recommendations based on search context and personal shopping data. AI-powered interactive search could improve Amazon's shopping experience.
Additionally, Amazon hopes these changes will boost sales, particularly on mobile devices.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) previously announced the launch of the Bedrock generative AI service and its own large language model, Titan.
Amazon has been researching AI for over 20 years, and its AWS cloud service has already served more than 100,000 AI customers. Amazon has also been using a fine-tuned version of Titan to provide search services through its homepage.
