Musk's xAI Open-Sources Grok 2.5: Grok 3 to Be Open-Sourced in Six Months
-
Recently, Elon Musk announced on social platform X that his AI company xAI has officially open-sourced the Grok 2.5 model, making its source code publicly available. This move is another concrete practice of Musk's advocacy for open technology and opens new pathways for the development of the AI field.
Musk further revealed that the more advanced Grok 3 model is expected to be released as open-source within the next six months.
Alongside the model's open-sourcing, the Grok App has also released version v1.1.58, bringing multiple user experience optimizations. Among them, the image generation speed of the Imagine feature has significantly improved, allowing users to obtain results faster. The interactive fun of the Companions feature has also been enhanced, providing users with a richer communication experience.
Additionally, Grok's Vision mode is now fully available to all Android users, no longer limited to test user groups. This adjustment is expected to further enhance the product's user experience and attract a broader audience to use Grok-related products.
