Tesla Integrates Doubao and DeepSeek Models, Enabling Direct Voice Command Activation

Recently, Tesla has reached a significant collaboration with ByteDance's Volcano Engine to jointly enhance the intelligent cockpit interaction experience for Tesla in the domestic market. According to the agreement, Volcano Engine will provide large model services to Tesla, supporting the intelligent upgrade of its in-vehicle system.
The latest update to Tesla China's official website, as disclosed in the Tesla In-Vehicle Voice Assistant Terms of Use, reveals that the newly launched Tesla Model Y L will be the first to feature Doubao and DeepSeek models, both integrated via Volcano Engine. This move marks Tesla's official adoption of domestic large model technology in the Chinese market to elevate the intelligence of its in-vehicle systems.
According to the terms, every Tesla vehicle is equipped with advanced voice assistant capabilities. Owners can easily activate the in-vehicle voice assistant via physical buttons, the voice command "Hey, Tesla," or a custom wake word to enable voice interaction with the vehicle. Among these features, the Doubao model will handle core voice command functions, including navigation settings, media playback control, air conditioning temperature adjustments, and practical operations, while also providing an owner's manual query function for convenient information retrieval. The DeepSeek model, on the other hand, focuses on offering AI-powered casual conversation services, further enriching the driving experience for owners.
