Tesla Upgrades Voice Assistant, AI Capabilities Reach New Heights
-
On August 21, Tesla made a significant upgrade to its in-car voice assistant, planning to introduce more advanced artificial intelligence technology. According to the newly updated 'Tesla Voice Assistant Terms of Use,' Tesla confirmed for the first time that its voice assistant will integrate external large-scale AI models, with partners including ByteDance's Volcano Engine and AI company DeepSeek.
Based on the terms, Tesla's voice assistant will receive technical support from Volcano Engine's Doubao model (Lark model) and DeepSeek Chat. This change means that Tesla owners with AI-enabled vehicles will not only be able to control various car functions via voice commands in the future but also engage in casual conversations with the voice assistant. This will allow owners to access real-time information, check the weather, and enjoy a more natural smart cabin interaction experience.
To activate this new feature, owners can use a physical button or the simple wake phrase, 'Hey, Tesla.' This innovation marks Tesla's acceleration of localized intelligent services in the Chinese market, enhancing its product competitiveness through partnerships with leading domestic AI technology companies.
However, although Tesla has announced its technical partners, it has not yet revealed when users will actually experience these enhanced AI interaction features. As technology advances and market demands evolve, Tesla continues to refine its products to provide users with a more convenient and intelligent driving experience.
Tesla's efforts in automotive intelligence not only reflect its keen grasp of market changes but also demonstrate its ambitious vision for the future of mobility. In the near future, owners can look forward to enjoying smarter and more user-friendly voice assistant services while driving.
