Microsoft's pricing for AI tools in its office software, which exceeds market expectations, has excited the industry. This pricing is based on adjustments made according to enterprise user experience and feedback. The higher price indicates strong market acceptance, suggesting rapid commercialization returns for AI products.

Last week, Microsoft announced the pricing for its AI tools for business customers—$30 per user per month. Market analysts believe this pricing opens up the commercialization potential for AI tools. Following the news, Microsoft's stock surged over 4%, reaching a record high with a market capitalization of $2.67 trillion.

The market has explored numerous AI application scenarios, such as autonomous driving, financial risk control, and drug development. Among these, office software stands out as one of the most effective and accessible scenarios. Office environments handle vast amounts of information in highly structured ways, making them ideal for AI tools. Microsoft's tool, named Office 365 Copilot, can perform most office tasks, including writing documents, creating PowerPoint presentations, and generating Excel spreadsheets. It can even analyze business data, ask questions, and retrieve answers from the web in corporate settings. A Microsoft executive stated, "Copilot heralds a new era of computing that will fundamentally transform how we work."

Microsoft's pricing for Office 365 Copilot is 260% higher than market rumors, surprising and exciting analysts. This pricing is not arbitrary but based on enterprise user feedback. High pricing reflects strong market acceptance. Over the past few months, 600 companies worldwide, including KPMG and the UAE National Development Bank, participated in the product's early access program, providing overwhelmingly positive feedback. Microsoft noted that the more customers use Copilot, the more enthusiastic they become, stating, "Soon, no one will want to work without it."

If market acceptance remains strong after the product's official launch, it will undoubtedly drive significant revenue growth for Microsoft. It will also validate that AI can greatly enhance productivity in specific scenarios, gaining widespread recognition and adoption. This suggests that AI products will achieve commercial returns quickly. As a result, more companies are likely to invest in the development, application, and commercialization of AI tools. The arrival of the AI era may come faster than we imagined.
