OpenAI Announces ChatGPT Available Without Registration
-
Recently, OpenAI announced the removal of restrictions, allowing users to directly use ChatGPT without registration, which will make it easier for people to experience the potential of artificial intelligence.
OpenAI stated that this feature will be gradually rolled out starting Monday, enabling over 100 million users across 185 countries and regions to use ChatGPT for learning new things, finding creative inspiration, and getting answers to questions. Through testing, without registration users can only access the GPT-3.5 version and cannot use advanced features like GPT-4, and are limited to one conversation without chat history retention.
OpenAI recommends users to register accounts, as creating an account enables features like saving and viewing chat history, sharing conversations, and unlocking voice dialogue capabilities.
Media reports indicate that data shows since ChatGPT reached its peak of 1.8 billion global visits in May 2023, the service's traffic growth has begun to slow down, which should be one of the reasons why ChatGPT now allows usage without registration. It is reported that in December last year, the Chinese Academy of Engineering and other institutions released the list of the top 10 global engineering achievements for 2023, which included ChatGPT, alongside China's space station, exascale supercomputers, the HarmonyOS operating system, and others.
