ByteDance Secretly Developing Multiple AI Products Including Multimodal Digital Humans
-
On February 28th, Jiemian News reported that ByteDance is secretly developing multiple AI products including multimodal digital humans, AI-generated images, and AI-generated videos. A source close to ByteDance revealed that founder Zhang Yiming spent the entire last year focused on AI, demonstrating the company's strong commitment to AI development.
It is reported that ByteDance's video editing app Jianying formed a closed-door team several months ago to develop new AI products, though the team remains in strict confidentiality with no products launched yet.
Currently, ByteDance has released three AI conversational products: Doubao, Kouzi, and Cici. As previously reported by IT Home, ByteDance's multimodal large model BuboGPT launched in August last year, and its Douyin Skylark model has passed China's first batch of generative AI service management regulations and opened to the public.
Additionally, ByteDance's AI chatbot development platform Coze, launched overseas in December last year, officially debuted in China on February 1st under the Chinese name "Kouzi," enabling non-developers to quickly create, debug, and optimize AI chatbots.
ByteDance recently also released the text-to-image open model SDXL-Lightning, which can generate extremely high-quality and high-resolution images in just 2 or 4 steps, speeding up generation by ten times.
