Musk: xAI to Release Grok 1.5 Chatbot in Two Weeks
-
On February 22, according to foreign media reports, Elon Musk announced on social media platform X that the AI startup xAI will release the Grok 1.5 chatbot in two weeks.
xAI is an AI startup founded by Musk in July 2023. The team behind it is led by Musk and consists of 12 members, including Musk himself.
In November 2023, xAI released Grok. Grok's functionality is similar to ChatGPT, capable of answering user questions based on information generated by large language models, aiming to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude 2.
xAI has revealed that Grok is powered by a large language model called Grok-1 and claims that it outperforms OpenAI's GPT-3.5 in many benchmarks, such as solving middle school math problems.
In January of this year, Musk stated that Grok 1.5 would be released in February, with the new version bringing "comprehensive" improvements. Earlier this week, Musk revealed that Grok 1.5 is just weeks away from release, and it will include a 'Grok Analysis' button capable of summarizing entire threads and replies. It will also help users create posts.
Just days before Musk's announcement, Google introduced its new Gemini 1.5 AI model. The company stated that compared to its predecessor Gemini 1.0 Ultra, Gemini 1.5 has made significant progress in multiple aspects, enabling more efficient and prolonged information processing.
