According to Sina Tech on February 7, Zhang Nan, CEO of Douyin Group, announced her resignation from the CEO position to focus on the development of Jianying.

Sources close to Jianying revealed that over the past year, Zhang Nan has devoted most of her efforts to Jianying-related businesses, personally leading the team to seek breakthroughs in AI-assisted creation. An AI-generated image and video product is set to be launched soon.

Caixin Securities pointed out that 2023 was the first year of rapid explosion in large AI models, with domestic and international AI giants competing to release their self-developed large models. These models were quickly integrated into their own product systems while actively expanding partnerships and building networks, with the initial form of downstream application ecosystems beginning to emerge.

On the content side, it is believed that AIGC has reshaped the content production process, empowering transformations in multiple segmented scenarios: First, "cost reduction"—by saving manpower and reshaping production processes, it lowers production costs and content creation barriers, improving production efficiency and capacity limits.

Second, "efficiency enhancement"—AIGC makes human-computer interaction more intelligent, with new content experiences bringing more diverse user ecosystems, further increasing user engagement and potential willingness to pay.

Galaxy Securities noted that artificial intelligence is still in the early stages of industry development. Future domestic large models are expected to achieve breakthroughs in text-to-image and text-to-video capabilities, with a focus on AIGC application sub-sectors. As AIGC applications accelerate, driving marginal improvements in industry financial indicators, 2024 may see the emergence of killer C-end applications. On the corporate front, according to disclosures on listed companies' interactive platforms, Gravity Media has established key partnerships with platforms such as Douyin and Toutiao. Digital Video employs AI technology to intelligently enhance video content resolution, automatically generating images that surpass the resolution of the imaging system, and utilizes AI algorithms for AIGC to produce high-definition and ultra-high-definition video content automatically.

    Generative AI Accelerates Implementation

Recently, OpenAI officially announced the launch of the GPT Store, where users have already created over 3 million GPTs.

From the composition of the OpenAI GPT Store interface, it resembles current mobile app stores, featuring sections like this week's top picks, the most popular GPTs in the community, and GPTs created by the ChatGPT team.

Lu Yanxia, Research Director at IDC China, believes that currently viable or profitable models include office scenarios such as meeting transcriptions, meeting summaries, and digital avatars. The revenue growth of generative AI will be reflected in the subscription fees for collaborative office software and meeting software.

In internet industries like gaming, entertainment, and live streaming, text-to-image tools assisting in art design are expected to be implemented quickly. Lu Yanxia attributes this to the fact that such applications do not have strict standards for AI-generated results, allowing for a certain degree of flexibility. Additionally, intelligent customer service and digital employees will benefit. Generative AI is an artificial intelligence technology that utilizes machine learning models and deep learning techniques to create new content—such as text, images, audio, or video—by analyzing patterns in historical data.

Unlike systems that generate output based on predefined rules or data, generative AI autonomously produces entirely new content, akin to human creativity. For example, the widely discussed chatbot ChatGPT, which employs the core GPT-3 model, can generate high-quality natural language text for applications like chatting, writing, and automated customer service.

Generative AI Industry Market Development Survey and Analysis

On January 15, 2024, Microsoft announced that Copilot for Microsoft 365 is now available for Business Standard/Premium subscription users, with a minimum purchase of one seat. Previously, it was only accessible to higher-tier E3 and E5 subscribers, requiring a minimum of 300 seats. Additionally, Microsoft introduced Copilot Pro, enabling individual and family Microsoft 365 subscribers to leverage AI-powered office software features. Priced at $20 per user per month, Copilot Pro is currently available in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, and other regions, with plans to expand further.

Overseas generative AI applications, such as Microsoft Copilot, Adobe Firefly, Salesforce AI Cloud, and Duolingo Max, continue to advance in product diversity and commercialization. Future milestones, including product experience upgrades and commercialization disclosures, are expected to further catalyze domestic developments.

Since the release of ChatGPT in late 2022, the generative AI industry has accelerated, though it remains in its early stages from a lifecycle perspective. Since the beginning of 2023, general artificial intelligence represented by cognitive large models has sparked a global frenzy. International companies such as OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google have continued to ramp up their investments, while China has seen a 'thousand-model war,' with numerous high-tech enterprises competing in research and development.

According to the 'China Artificial Intelligence Large Model Map Research Report' released by the Ministry of Science and Technology, China and the United States significantly lead the world in the number of large models released, accounting for over 80% of the global total.

In December 2023, at the 10th WAVE SUMMIT Deep Learning Developer Conference, Wang Haifeng, Baidu's Chief Technology Officer and Director of the National Engineering Research Center for Deep Learning Technology and Applications, announced that Wenxin Yiyan's user base had surpassed 100 million. This milestone achievement marks significant progress for Baidu in the field of artificial intelligence.

Bank of Communications International released a research report stating that Wenxin Yiyan, with Baidu's traffic, search product advantages, and technical and financial support, is expected to achieve rapid growth. The report is optimistic about its potential to restructure Baidu's product portfolio and drive revenue.

Wenxin Yiyan has launched a professional version priced at 59.9 yuan per month and a joint membership for Wenxin Yiyan and Wenxin Yige priced at 99 yuan per month, available for C-end users to pay for use. Since its public release on August 31, Wenxin Yiyan has reached 70 million users, with 4,300 scenarios and 2,492 applications.

Meanwhile, large models are also seen as a new engine for corporate transformation. McKinsey's report, 'The Economic Potential of Generative AI: The Next Productivity Frontier,' shows that applying the 63 analyzed generative AI technologies across various industries could bring annual global economic growth of $2.6 trillion to $4.4 trillion. This prediction has not yet accounted for all generative AI applications. If unstudied applications are included, the economic impact generated by generative AI could potentially double.

Specifically, industry stakeholders widely believe that the generative AI market is poised for explosive growth on the demand side, potentially forming two trillion-dollar markets in both consumer (C-end) and enterprise (B-end) sectors. Enterprises are currently experiencing a sharp increase in demand for generative AI. General-purpose models will inevitably transform the traditional AI market, and productivity improvements will significantly drive industry development.
