Giant Network's Large Model GiantGPT Completes Registration
-
On February 2, it was learned from Giant Network that the company has officially completed the registration of its game AI large model GiantGPT, marking a significant milestone in the field of artificial intelligence and making it the first gaming company to publicly confirm this achievement.
GiantGPT is a vertical large model focused on the gaming business, trained on proprietary data and public internet data. It has been deeply optimized for foundational capabilities such as character acting, situational reasoning, and long-term memory. Its performance in Giant Network's own gaming scenarios surpasses that of both domestic and international closed-source general large models.
Giant Network stated that, effective immediately, services related to the GiantGPT AI large model can officially commence operations.
Shi Yuzhu, Chairman of Giant Network, previously remarked at the company's annual meeting: "AI is not only a symbol of technological progress but also a key to innovative game development methods. Gaming companies that do not actively embrace AI will eventually be left behind."
It is reported that Giant Network established an AI lab at the end of 2022. In 2023, the company developed a "gaming + AI" efficiency enhancement platform based on core gaming elements, supporting game development, operation, and distribution across multiple domains such as images, videos, audio, code, text, models, and strategies. The company has utilized various AIGC technologies to establish an industrialized production pipeline.
In 2024, the company plans to introduce a new AI gameplay feature called "AI Reasoning Theater" in its deduction-based mobile game Space Kill. This feature revolutionizes the traditional single-plot approach of narrative games by generating unique storylines for each player, entirely crafted by the GiantGPT large model. The company believes that this innovative integration of AI with gameplay has the potential to create entirely new gaming experiences and user enjoyment. Additionally, newly developed AI NPCs have been deployed for testing in the beta servers of two core products and will gradually be implemented in more products this year.
Giant Network expressed its intention to explore the creation of a revolutionary AI game development platform in the future, aiming to lower the barriers to entry and enable non-professional developers to transform their creative ideas into games using AI, thereby democratizing game creation.
