iPhone 16 to Feature 8GB RAM with Major Upgrade for Standard Model
-
According to the latest report from analyst Jeff Pu, Apple's next-generation iPhone 16 series will adopt a unified memory specification across all models, with the standard version also receiving an upgrade in Wi-Fi capabilities, supporting Wi-Fi 6E for faster speeds and reduced interference.
In the current iPhone 15 series, the four models come with different memory specifications as follows:
iPhone 15: 6GB RAM
iPhone 15 Plus: 6GB RAM
iPhone 15 Pro: 8GB RAM
iPhone 15 Pro Max: 8GB RAM
However, the memory specifications for the iPhone 16 series have changed:
iPhone 16: 8GB RAM
iPhone 16 Plus: 8GB RAM iPhone 16 Pro: 8GB RAM
iPhone 16 Pro Max: 8GB RAM
This means the entire iPhone 16 lineup will adopt 8GB RAM, with larger memory capacity enhancing multitasking performance.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will support Wi-Fi 6E, enabling access to the less congested 6GHz band with superior frequency resources and more continuous 160MHz spectrum. Currently, Wi-Fi 6E is limited to Pro models in the iPhone 15 series.
While the standard iPhone 16 shows significant specification upgrades, the more powerful iPhone 16 Pro is expected to maintain a noticeable experience gap over the base model.
