CAFA Releases AI Large Model to Boost Art and Technology Industry Upgrade
-
Recently, the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) AI Art Creation Large Model was unveiled at the CAFA Art Museum. The event, themed 'Thought, Generating Myriad Forms,' focused on the development and breakthroughs of artificial intelligence in the field of artistic creation, exploring cutting-edge applications of AI technology in art. The event also launched the Katacata AI painting platform and announced the official establishment of the CAFA Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
During the event, Wang Wendong, Director of the Digital Technology Research Center at CAFA, analyzed the impact of AI on society and culture, needs and interests, as well as human cognition. Cao Liang, Deputy Director of the Foundation Department at CAFA's School of Architecture, discussed the potential of AI as an inspirational tool and a means to reduce repetitive tasks from an educational perspective, as well as the possibility of integrating AI into teaching processes. Experts in the field of large-scale AI language models elaborated on the progress of AI in drawing and shared their technical visions for the future.
Experts unanimously agreed that AI technology, with its unique advantages, will become a new canvas for artistic creation, offering artists infinite inspiration and pushing art into new dimensions. At the same time, it will provide the public with entirely new artistic experiences.
The CAFA AI Large Model is supported by Beijing Yingyue Chuangxiang Technology Co., Ltd. (Yingchuang AI) and jointly developed and trained by CAFA, Yingchuang AI, and Yiqu AI. Leveraging CAFA's rich educational resources, the model deeply integrates various artistic styles, bringing new possibilities to creative endeavors. Compared to other artistic creation models, the CAFA AI model places greater emphasis on the inheritance and innovation of Chinese art styles, demonstrating distinct advantages in representing Chinese artistic aesthetics. It encompasses the techniques, styles, and characteristics of traditional Chinese painting, comprehensively and accurately grasping the essence of Chinese art through deep learning and continuous training, thereby ideally presenting Chinese-style charm and appeal in its creations.
Another significant feature of the CAFA AI model is its integration of various artist styles. Leveraging its profound academic foundation and extensive data resources, CAFA has infused the model with diverse artistic styles. By absorbing the creative concepts and techniques of different artists, the model can freely exhibit multiple creative characteristics, offering artists new perspectives and sources of inspiration, making the process of artistic exploration more creative.
At the level of artistic creation, the CAFA AI model can expand the creative boundaries of artists. By analyzing a vast number of artworks, it continuously provides creators with new creative ideas and design concepts, assisting them in exploring more diverse forms of artistic expression and thereby offering a broader creative space.
In the field of education, the CAFA AI model will also serve as an important teaching assistant. Its knowledge resource library and customized functions can provide personalized learning experiences for students of different art disciplines, aiding their study and research to better understand and master artistic knowledge and skills. Additionally, it can analyze and classify artworks, such as identifying the style and period of a painting or assisting learners in theoretical art research through the analysis of structure, techniques, and creative context. This not only helps them gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of artworks but also enhances the quality and efficiency of education. The exploration of AI and art integration is just beginning, but with technological advancements and the expansion of application scenarios, research in this field is bound to influence and transform art creation and industrial development. To this end, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Yingchuang AI, and Yiqu AI have officially announced the launch of the horizontal research project "Artificial Intelligence Laboratory." The project aims to deeply explore the application of AI technology in the teaching of fine arts disciplines and commercial fields such as urban planning, architectural design, and landscape design. It will focus on how AI can assist in skill-based training like painting, sculpture, and visual design, while also providing innovative ideas for art commercialization and talent development. Through this collaboration, both parties will jointly promote the deep integration of AI and art, injecting technological vitality into art creation and industrial development.
At the same time, the Central Academy of Fine Arts will use its professional resource library to provide continuous professional training for Yingchuang AI's Katacata AI painting platform, offering more creative inspiration for content creators and allowing the public to easily enjoy the fun of painting and video production.
It is reported that the Central Academy of Fine Arts will continue to leverage its professional advantages in the art field, deepening cooperation and exchanges with Yingchuang AI and Yiqu AI to jointly promote the development and application of AI technology in the art field, continuously optimize model capabilities, empower art creation, support industrial upgrading, and together open a new chapter in the imaginative space of art.
