World's First AI-Powered Restaurant Opens, Featuring Fully Automated Burger and Fries Preparation
-
The world's first fully automated, AI-driven restaurant, CaliExpress by Flippy, opened in Southern California last December. At this restaurant, robots are responsible for cooking burgers and fries.
Upon placing an order, customers can watch the robots prepare their meals from start to finish, with the option to customize their orders.
This restaurant is a collaboration between tech company Cali Group, Miso Robotics (creator of Flippy), and PopID, a tech company that uses biometrics to simplify ordering and payment systems. The menu includes burgers, cheeseburgers, and fries.
PopID's CEO John Miller stated in a press release: "To our knowledge, this is the world's first restaurant that has achieved both automated ordering and fully automated cooking." He added that combining these technologies to create the world's most autonomous restaurant represents the culmination of years of research, development, and investment.
According to the company, this technology can virtually eliminate cooking errors and burns in restaurants while reducing food and oil waste. The CaliExpress by Flippy kitchen can also be operated by a small team.
The location of CaliExpress by Flippy will also serve as a pseudo-museum experience presented by Miso Robotics. Customers can see dancing robotic arms, experimental 3D prints, and photography displays.
Customers can visit CaliExpress by Flippy by making an online reservation at: https://misorobotics.com/.
