Latest research data shows ChatGPT dominates the AI tool market with a 60% share. According to a report released by WriterBuddy.ai, artificial intelligence has become an 'omnipresent force' online, with 50 AI-based websites attracting over 2.4 billion visits in 11 months.
In August 2023, these websites reached 280 million visits, marking an increase of 260 million visits compared to the first month of the reporting period. This finding highlights ChatGPT's dominance in the AI tools sector, contributing 1.468 billion visits alone among the top 50 AI platforms. Meanwhile, emerging competitors like Character.ai, Google Bard, and Perplexity AI collectively accounted for 18.69% of the monthly chatbot market visits. AI chatbot tools overall were the most popular, exceeding 1.9 billion visits.
CNBC reported that OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, is exploring the production of its own AI chips. OpenAI was founded in 2015 by notable investors such as Sam Altman, Elon Musk, and Peter Thiel. Currently, chip manufacturers like Nvidia are experiencing explosive growth due to the demand for AI data processing. For instance, Nvidia's stock price has risen nearly 68% in the past six months, with publicly traded chip manufacturers valued at $121 billion, surpassing Meta, Tesla, or Berkshire Hathaway.
According to Barron’s, OpenAI’s valuation is close to $80-90 billion. Sam Altman stated that the company’s revenue this year is expected to reach $1 billion. The company primarily generates income by providing enterprises and individuals with access to advanced features. Companies that wish to use OpenAI’s technology as a foundation or in an OEM model are also a major source of revenue.
A report by WriterBuddy.ai indicates that ChatGPT dominates in usage. For ChatGPT users, the average session lasts 30 minutes, and the tool is most popular in the US, India, and Brazil, aligning with Statista’s overall search traffic data. Nearly 60% of users access ChatGPT via mobile devices, and the user base is predominantly male, accounting for nearly 75%.
