Baidu CTO Wang Haifeng Reveals Ernie Bot User Base Reaches 70 Million
-
On November 9, at the 2023 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, Baidu CTO Wang Haifeng disclosed that Ernie Bot's user base has now reached 70 million.
Baidu officially stated that since Ernie Bot was opened to the public on August 31, its user base has reached 70 million, with 4,300 scenarios and 2,492 applications.
The PaddlePaddle and Ernie ecosystem has attracted 8 million developers, served 220,000 enterprises and institutions, and created 800,000 models.
Through the collaborative optimization of PaddlePaddle and Ernie, the weekly training efficiency of the Ernie large model exceeds 98%, with training efficiency increasing by 3.6 times compared to its release in March, and inference performance improving by 50 times.
Wang Haifeng believes that artificial intelligence possesses multiple typical capabilities, with understanding, generation, logic, and memory being the foundational abilities. The stronger these four capabilities are, the closer it is to achieving general artificial intelligence.
Baidu released the next-generation knowledge-enhanced large language model Ernie Bot on March 16, and the base model has now been upgraded to Ernie 4.0.
Ernie 4.0 has significantly improved in the four major capabilities of understanding, generation, logic, and memory. The improvements in understanding and generation are similar, while the enhancements in logic and memory are even greater, with logic improving nearly three times as much as understanding, and memory improving more than twice as much as understanding.
