International Standards for Large Models Launched: Chinese Companies Initiate IEEE Large Model Standards Working Group
-
On November 8, it was announced that Chinese tech institutions and companies will lead the development of international standards for AI large models. On November 7, the IEEE 'Artificial Intelligence Large Model' Standards Conference, jointly hosted by the Shanghai AI Laboratory and SenseTime, was successfully held in Shenzhen with the guidance of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and IEEE Standards Association, and the support of the Shenzhen Market Supervision Administration. Nearly 300 industry experts attended the conference.
At the conference, 11 domestic institutions, including the China Electronics Standardization Institute, Shanghai AI Laboratory, Huawei Cloud, Baidu, Tencent, Ant Group, SenseTime, 360, ZTE, Midea, and Hisense Group, jointly launched the IEEE Large Model Standards Working Group.
It was reported that the IEEE Large Model Standards Working Group will collaborate with domestic and international large model industry forces to develop international advanced standards in areas such as technical specifications, evaluation methods, security, trustworthiness, and reliable decision-making, providing better support for global large model industry innovation and development.
The IEEE international standards system will also introduce international standards for AI large models for the first time. After the conference, a drafting group composed of representatives from the first batch of member units, along with international experts, officially initiated the first standard of the IEEE Large Model Standards Working Group, titled 'Evaluation Framework and Process for Large-Scale Deep Learning Models.'
Note: The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), established on January 1, 1963, is an international professional association for electronic technology and electrical engineers. It is also one of the world's largest technical professional organizations, with 420,000 members from 175 countries.
In addition to its headquarters in New York City, IEEE has branches in over 150 countries and regions, along with 35 professional societies and 2 federations. It publishes numerous magazines, journals, and books annually and holds at least 300 professional conferences. Currently, IEEE's standards have a significant impact in the industry.
